About Gearbox Gurus Ipswich
Your Local Automatic Gearbox Specialists
We collect a lot of cars from Ipswich and the surrounding Suffolk towns, and it's usually one of two things: an older automatic that's never had the gearbox fluid changed, or a newer DSG that's throwing a mechatronic fault after years of stop-start driving around the docks and town centre. Felixstowe's port traffic and the commute in from Woodbridge or Stowmarket both put serious hours on a gearbox, and we see the wear to match. A lot of Ipswich drivers have been quoted eye-watering prices for a full replacement unit by a dealer or a local garage without transmission specialists on site, when what the car actually needed was a targeted repair.
Because we're not local to Ipswich, we do the whole thing by collection: we pick the car up from your door, diagnose it on the same equipment a main dealer uses, and deliver it straight back once the work's finished. You never need to find time to drive anywhere.

Had a really great experience with these guys. Ross's technical knowledge shines through. It turns out the problem was coming from the ABS module and not the gearbox. They wouldn't accept any payment. Honest mechanics would use again.
